Eco Council - Eco Schools
The Eco-Schools is a global programme engaging 19.5 million children across 67 countries, making it the largest educational programme on the planet. For over 25 yearsEco-Schools has been empowering children to drive change and improve their environmental awareness through the simple Seven-Step framework to achieve the international Eco-Schools Green Flag.
The programme empowers pupils to lead change and encourages pupils of all ages and abilities to work together to develop their knowledge and environmental awareness. Participation in the programme improves the school environment and creates financial savings through reduced wastage, whilst also engaging the wider local community.
Independent research into the Eco-Schools programme in England found evidence of the positive impacts on pupils, including increased confidence, development of leaderships skills, improved pupil well-being and behaviour, and greater motivation at school.
Details of our current Eco-Committee members, our most recent Environmental Review and our current Action Plan, can be found in the main hall displayed on our Eco-Board, along with our Bronze Award certificate.
