PE Day: Thursday
Reading information: In Year 5, we expect children to be reading at home with their parents at least 3 times a week for 20 minutes. The children have a reading record where parents can sign and leave a comment about what the children have been reading.
Spelling information: As part of our English lessons, Year 5 children focus on using their phonic knowledge and common spelling rules through investigating hypotheses and applying this in their writing. We also focus on learning the Year 5 and 6 Statutory Spellings set out in the National Curriculum. The children can use websites such as ICT Games to aid in this.
Homework information: Each Friday, homework is set for the children using the online platform Century.tech. Parents are communicated with about this through a post on Class Dojo to ensure that parents are aware of the homework that is being set.
